“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14

In my life and occupation, I meet people from all walks of life, experiences, and circumstances.  I have encountered so many people who act healed but in reality, wear woundedness as a badge.  They allow what they have been through to mark who they are, unwilling to let that wound be healed.  Often, woundedness is a mark of identity.  If someone has identified as a victim for years, once the perception of their own situation shifts, what does that leave? Who are they without the stigma of what they have been through?

What keeps mature people distinctive is their ability to go through the pain and come out without the smell of smoke-no evidence of the fire they just walked through. Fire doesn’t change you-it reveals you.  The refining fire will draw out what you are made of in the core.  As we allow the Lord to heal our hurt places, when we are processed and go through the fire, our lives will release a sweet-smelling aroma of the goodness and faithfulness of God.  May our lives release the fragrance of heaven wherever we go.

“In fact, God thinks of us as a perfume that brings Christ to everyone. For people who are being saved, this perfume has a sweet smell and leads them to a better life.” 2 Corinthians 2:15 CEV
